The Vincent platform lets you execute strategies on behalf of users. When creating a Vincent app, you can request permissions to use smart contracts on behalf of users and depositors. Once a user has granted you permissions, you can ONLY use the specific abilities which ensures your app is non-custodial. Once an ability has been granted by a user, you can execute these functions either via the Vincent SDK. Jump in with this starter repo.

What’s an App?

An app is the top-level software package a developer ships into Vincent. It bundles:

  • One or more agents that run the logic
  • A manifest of required abilities
  • Optional policies that govern how those abilities are used

What’s an Ability?

An ability is a single, composable action that an agent can perform on behalf of a user, like “borrow on Aave” or “swap on Uniswap.”

  • Encapsulates the contract interaction and safety checks
  • Versioned and reusable across any app
  • Explicitly permissioned by the user at connect time

In the app creation flow, you'll find that Morpho, Aave, Uniswap, and deBridge are live as abilities.

What’s a Policy?

A policy is the rule-set that constrains when and how an ability can fire. Policies are stored onchain and enforced by Lit Protocol. Typical dimensions:

  • Who: which agent(s) or signer(s) may invoke the ability
  • When: time windows, schedules, or rate limits
  • How much: value ceilings, slippage limits, position size caps
