Now Live: Lit Protocol V1
We’re thrilled to announce that the much awaited Lit v1 mainnet, the Naga network, is now live embarking on a critical step to the Lit network’s self-sustainability.
Overview
The Distributed Key Generation (DKG) was performed on 17 Dec, 2025 with 7 node operators selected by the month-long Stake Weight Contest. Naga Mainnet is a paid network and accepts $LITKEY to pay for the network requests and minting PKPs. It can be accessed using the Lit SDK v8.
The Naga testnets are already up:
- Naga-dev: Centralized testnet designed for early-stage development
- Naga-test: Decentralized testnet designed for pre-production deployment
Key Features
- Performance Improvements: Naga releases our most performant ECDSA signing algorithm that generates sub-second decentralized ECDSA signatures
- Signature scheme coverage: Naga supports ECDSA, Schnorr (including ZK variants), and EdDSA signatures which means you get MPC signatures on almost any blockchain
- Viem-based SDK: v8 simplifies interactions for EVM chains with a drop‑in, Viem‑compatible account that behaves like an EOA account, but is backed by a PKP
- Rust SDK: The much demanded Rust SDK to interface with the Lit network with a full 1:1 ergonomic match just like our JS SDK
