Now Live: Naga Test

The Naga Testnet is now live.

Now Live: Naga Test

Today we’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Naga Testnet — the official predecessor to the Naga Mainnet and the next step in Lit Protocol’s path to v1.

Naga Test is the official successor to the Datil Test network, though both will continue to run in parallel for the time being. Whether you’re completely new to developing on Lit or a veteran builder, you can use the latest Lit Protocol developer docs to deploy on the Naga Test network today.

For Builders

The Naga Networks introduce several important updates and features to the Lit development stack. These include:

  • New Payments Model: Radically simplifies paying for Lit.
  • New Signing Curves: Sign and manage accounts for any protocol, app, or chain that uses ECDSA or EdDSA signatures.
  • Improved Session Management: Create persistent user sessions, manage authentication states, and handle user lifecycle events with just a few lines of code.
  • Performance Improvements: The Naga networks introduce several performance improvements for key generation, signing operations, and general node-to-node communication, making your apps faster and more efficient.

Looking Toward Lit v1

The Naga Test release precedes the Lit TGE and v1 mainnet launch, both slated for later this quarter. By building on the Naga Testnet today, you're not just accessing improved infrastructure, you're preparing your application for a seamless transition to the mainnet when it launches

Get Started

The Naga Testnet and v8 SDK are live and ready for you to try out today. Whether you're building your first Lit-powered application or upgrading an existing project, this release provides the foundation for creating more secure, capable, and user-friendly applications on the decentralized Web.

  1. New developers: Get started using the latest developer docs and interactive Naga Explorer.
  2. Existing developers: For existing developers building on one of the Datil networks (using the SDK v7 and below) please use the v8 SDK reference to upgrade and access the Naga networks. As a reminder, upgrading and migrating to Naga is NOT REQUIRED at this stage. A migration path will be provided to all developers building on Datil after the v1 mainnet is live. More information will be provided ahead of the release.

We can’t wait to see what you build 🔥
